Ask
When the model needs a decision, Ask puts the question where the work is and offers a few answers instead of an empty box. The question wears pigment; your answer stays in ink.
Answer three questions to build a renewal offer. Try “You decide” on one of them: its pick is marked as the model’s.
Anatomy
When to use
- The model can’t continue without a person’s choice.
- A short sequence of decisions builds a result: an offer, a schedule, a filter.
- Not for free-form conversation. Use the guide or Lasso for that.
Behaviour
- Each answer moves the record forward and shows the model preparing the next question.
- “You decide” hands one choice to the model. Its pick appears in pigment with a full-ring mark, so it stays visibly the model’s.
- “Other…” opens a short field for an answer of your own.
- The result streams in pigment and waits for Accept.
Best practices
- Ask one thing at a time, in words the person would use.
- Order answers by likelihood, and put the model’s recommendation first only if you say so.
- Offer “You decide” only for reversible choices.
Accessibility
- Answers are a labelled group of buttons.
- The record has a label, “Your answers so far”, and reads in order.
- The result is a live region read once, when complete.
