Confirmation
Some actions can’t be undone: paying money, signing, deleting records. Palette seals them so only people can take them, and the biggest need two different people.
Three levels
| Level | Example | Pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Undoable | Approve 38 invoices for payment run | Act now, offer undo in a murmur |
| Irreversible | Release a S$48,200 deposit | Person only, hold one beat to seal (Seal) |
| Irreversible and large | Draw down S$2.4M on a facility | Two people, each holds half (Quorum) |
Prefer undo whenever the action allows it. A confirmation dialog interrupts every time; an undo costs nothing unless you need it.
Sealing with a hold
- A hold takes half a beat (1.2 seconds). Letting go early cancels it, and nothing happens.
- The button fills as you hold, so the progress is visible and the release point is clear.
- State the consequences beneath the button: “Pays the tenant · cannot be undone · notifies finance”.
- Space and Enter hold too. Every hold has a keyboard path.
