Quorum

Quorum is for irreversible actions that need two different people. Each approver holds their half of the ring. The action seals only when both halves close, and an agent can hold neither.

Live specimen

Hold the ring to approve your half. Priya Rao, the second approver, holds hers on her phone a moment later. Then reset and let the agent try.

Anatomy

When to use

  • Four-eyes controls: drawdowns, large payments, write-offs, signing on behalf of a company.
  • Any action your policy says one person may not take alone.
  • Not for routine approvals. Two holds cost two people’s attention.

Best practices

  • Require two different people, each signed in on their own device.
  • Show who holds the other half, and where they are in the process.
  • Never let one person hold both halves, even with two accounts open.

Accessibility

  • Hold Space or Enter to approve your half.
  • Progress and refusals are announced through a polite live region.
  • Each approver’s state is written out, not only drawn.
